We are looking for a Design Engineer with mechanical skills, ambition, motivation to grow with and within the company. Somebody who is challenged by identifying the added value of a solution instead of answering the question.

As Design Engineer you will work in a team of motivated colleagues, such as other Design engineers, CAD engineers and Structural engineers, on bespoke handling and lifting solutions for a wide variety of applications used in WTG installation, heavy lifting, and cleanrooms, to name a few.

What will you be doing

In this role, you will have the following tasks:

Conceptual phase:

          • Develop (concept) designs together with the lead engineer;
          • Perform fundamental, concept level structural/mechanical calculations

Basic Design phase:

          • Develop concepts designs into primary structures together with the structural engineer
          • Interpret structural calculations (RFEM, MathCAD) against feasibility of design, and develop mitigation design efforts, as necessary

Detailed Design phase:

          • Develop secondary steel to create an ergonomic and safe machine
          • Check MTO-lists, 2D arrangements and workshop drawings

Preparation of technical project documentation;
Actively investigate and promote process improvements within the organization.

          • We offer a starting salary of €3.300,- to €4.000,- gross per month, based on 40 hours worked per week. On top of this comes 8% vacation allowance.
          • With this position comes 200 vacation hours, again based on 40 hours worked per week.

What do we expect from you

Education and experience

          • You possess a bachelor or masters degree in the direction of mechanical engineering (pre) or civil engineering
          • You have up to 4 years of experience in a similar position.

Expertise and skills

          • Experience with 3D (SolidWorks, Inventor, Creo) and 2D CAD (AutoCAD)
          • Experience with computational software such as MathCAD, RFEM, SCIA
          • Good insight in degrees of freedom on mechanical systems and strength / stiffness issues;
          • Familiar with geometrical tolerances, weld specification, manufacturability
          • You are inventive and creative in finding solutions to structural challenges;
          • You exhibit strong team player skills and know how to motivate and direct a team
          • You communicate well in English, both spoken and written.
